Granada: Guided Tour of the Alhambra

Our coach will collect you from your chosen location at the scheduled time, ensuring a smooth and comfortable start to your journey. Pick-ups begin in Benalmádena for logistical reasons, but we recommend joining the tour from the centre of Torremolinos. The Cercanías train provides a convenient connection to this location. As we travel, admire the scenic views of Málaga and the Costa del Sol while our guide shares captivating stories about Granada. Before reaching our destination, we will make a short stop for breakfast. Don’t miss the stunning landscapes of the Sierra Nevada along the way!

Once in Granada, you will have approximately two hours of free time to explore the city. You can visit:

The Cathedral of Granada, a Renaissance masterpiece symbolizing the glory of the Catholic Monarchs in 1492.
Plaza Nueva, the oldest square in Granada and a historic crossroads.
Calle Elvira, famous for its tea shops and vibrant atmosphere, ideal for enjoying Granada’s renowned tapas.
Carrera del Darro, often called the most photographed street in the city.
Paseo de los Tristes, a picturesque walkway at the foot of the Alhambra, offering stunning views of the Albaicín.

After your time in Granada, we will head to the Alhambra, one of Spain’s most visited monuments. Your entrance includes access to the following areas, depending on the option you choose:

Tour Options:

1. The Complete Alhambra & Nasrid Palaces Tour, which is a fully-guided visit of the Alhambra and Generalife, including:

The Nasrid Palaces: Comares Palace and The Palace of the Lions, the royal residence of the Nasrid dynasty. These palaces are masterpieces of Islamic architecture, featuring intricate stucco work, beautiful arches, and serene courtyards. The Court of the Lions in particular, with its famous fountain, is one of the most iconic spots of the Alhambra.
The Palace of Charles V: A Renaissance-style palace built by Emperor Charles V. Its classical style contrasts with the Islamic art of the Alhambra and provides a fascinating glimpse into Spain’s imperial history.
Generalife Palace & Gardens: The summer residence of the sultans, renowned for its beautiful gardens, fountains, and breathtaking views over the Alhambra. The Generalife is a symbol of Islamic paradise gardens.
Palatine Archaeological Area: Featuring the ruins of the Palace of the Abencerrajes, the Partal Gardens, and the Palace of Yusuf III. The Palace of the Abencerrajes is linked to the tragic story of the Abencerraje family, once nobles at the court who were executed for plotting against the Sultan.
La Rauda: The royal cemetery, located at the heart of the Alhambra. Here, many of the Nasrid sultans were buried, and its peaceful setting offers a sense of the past and the grandeur of the ruling family.
The Alcazaba: The fortified military stronghold of the Alhambra, with its ancient walls and towers offering stunning panoramic views of Granada. This area was used for defense and housed military personnel. The Tower of the Jewels and the Tower of the Secrets are key highlights.
2. Essential Alhambra Tour
A guided tour of the Alhambra’s key areas, including:

Medina & Alcazaba: The fortress and former military stronghold. The Alcazaba was the first area to be built in the Alhambra complex, and from here, you can enjoy sweeping views of the city.
Palace of Charles V: A Renaissance-style palace, similar to the Complete Tour, but this option omits the Nasrid Palaces.
Generalife Palace & Gardens: The summer residence of the sultans, known for its beautiful gardens, fountains, and stunning views.
Palatine Archaeological Area: With the ruins of the Palace of the Abencerrajes, Partal Gardens, and Palace of Yusuf III.
Note: This option does not include the Nasrid Palaces (Comares Palace and Palace of the Lions).

After the tour, we will meet at the designated time for the return trip to your pick-up location.
