Terms and Conditions

Website terms of use, general terms and conditions for travel bookings, and specific conditions for programmes for minors in Ireland

This page explains the terms governing the use of alanspeak.com and the booking of travel services through AlanSpeak Travel. It also sets out the specific conditions applying to educational programmes for minors in Ireland.

The three sections are presented separately for ease of reference. The particular conditions of each trip, including the services booked, prices, payment arrangements and other details, will be supplied with the relevant booking documentation.

Website terms of use

Last updated: 3 November 2026

Welcome to AlanSpeak Travel. These terms explain the conditions for using my website, alanspeak.com, and provide information about my professional activity as an independent travel agent.

The website is intended to provide information about my services, travel proposals and ways to contact me. These terms of use do not replace the general booking conditions or the particular conditions applying to an individual trip.

1. Website ownership and agency identification

I am David Alan John Egan, a self-employed travel agent trading as AlanSpeak Travel, an independent travel agency operating exclusively online from Fuengirola, Málaga, Spain.

AlanSpeak Travel is registered with the Andalusia Tourism Register under number C.I.AN 297805-3 as a wholesale and retail travel agency.

My activity is subject to applicable Spanish and Andalusian legislation, including Andalusia’s Tourism Act 13/2011 and Decree 114/2023, which regulates tourism intermediary businesses.

Full professional identification and contact details are available in the Legal Notice, accessible from the website footer.

2. Professional liability insurance and financial guarantee

AlanSpeak Travel holds professional liability insurance with Occident GCO, S.A.U. de Seguros y Reaseguros, providing €600,000 of cover under each of the policy’s three separate areas of cover.

I also hold a separate €100,000 financial guarantee covering the obligations specified under the regulations applicable to travel agencies, including insolvency protection where required by law.

These protections are subject to their respective terms, limits and scope of cover. Details of the guarantor and the information needed to exercise the relevant rights will be provided in the contractual documentation where applicable.

3. Information about trips and services

The destinations, itineraries, accommodation, photographs and other material published on this website are intended to provide information about trips and services that I can organise or sell.

I make every effort to provide clear, useful and up-to-date information. Nevertheless, tourism services may be subject to changes in availability, timetables, prices or conditions owing to circumstances affecting suppliers or destinations.

General website content does not, in itself, constitute a confirmed booking. However, where a proposal forms part of the pre-contractual information for a package travel arrangement, it will have the binding effect prescribed by applicable law.

4. Enquiries and travel bookings

You may use the contact methods provided on this website to request information, make enquiries or ask for a personalised quotation.

Submitting an enquiry or requesting a quotation does not, in itself, constitute a travel booking.

Before a booking is finalised, I will provide the applicable pre-contractual information, general booking conditions and any particular conditions relating to the requested service.

Booked services, prices, payments, changes, cancellations and other obligations will be governed by the applicable contractual documentation and current legislation.

Programmes for minors may be subject to additional conditions concerning participation, admission, behaviour and supervision, which will be communicated before booking.

5. Appropriate use of the website

You may access the public content of alanspeak.com freely without creating a user account.

I ask that you use the website lawfully and respectfully, avoiding fraudulent activity, impersonation, attempts to gain unauthorised access or any action that could compromise its operation or security.

Browsing this website does not mean that you have entered into a travel contract, nor does it authorise the processing of personal data for purposes other than those described in the Privacy Policy.

6. Content and intellectual property

Texts, photographs, designs, logos and other material published on alanspeak.com belong to their respective rights holders and are protected by intellectual property law where applicable.

Some photographs and other content may come from image libraries, tourism suppliers or external sources and are used in accordance with the relevant licences or permissions.

You are welcome to share links to pages on this website. Reproducing, distributing or using its content must respect the rights of the owners and the terms of any applicable licences.

The stories and personal opinions published on my Travellismus blog reflect my experiences and observations. They do not necessarily constitute commercial recommendations or contractual commitments.

7. Links to external websites

This website may contain links to official bodies, tourism suppliers, cultural resources and other external websites that I consider useful to visitors.

Those websites are managed by their respective operators and may change their content, conditions or privacy policies without any involvement from AlanSpeak Travel.

Including a link does not necessarily imply a commercial relationship or an endorsement of every product or service offered on the linked website.

Before providing personal information or making a payment through an external website, I recommend checking who operates it and reading the relevant terms.

8. Privacy and cookies

The processing of personal data provided through this website is explained in my Privacy Policy.

Information about cookies and related technologies used by alanspeak.com is available in the Cookie Policy.

Both documents can be accessed through the website footer.

Using the contact form does not automatically subscribe you to a marketing list or constitute consent to receive advertising communications.

9. Website operation and updates

I aim to keep this website functioning properly and to provide reliable information. Nevertheless, technical faults, temporary interruptions or content requiring an update may occasionally occur.

I may change the organisation, presentation and content of the website to improve its operation or reflect changes to the services I offer.

These changes do not affect clients’ rights under contracts already entered into or the statutory obligations to provide information.

If you notice incorrect information or a technical problem, please let me know so that I can look into it.

10. Applicable law and contact details

This website is managed from Spain and is subject to applicable Spanish and European legislation, without prejudice to consumers’ rights under any mandatory provisions that apply to them.

Contractual relationships arising from travel bookings will be governed by the relevant booking conditions and applicable consumer and traveller protection laws.

I may update these website terms when necessary. The date at the beginning of this section indicates the latest revision.

General terms and conditions for travel bookings

Working draft — 3 November 2026

These conditions explain how travel arrangements are booked and managed through AlanSpeak Travel, together with the main rights and responsibilities of travellers and the agency.

They apply to package travel arrangements organised or sold by AlanSpeak Travel, alongside the pre-contractual information, booking contract and particular conditions of each trip.

Where an individual travel service is booked separately, such as a flight or hotel room, the nature of that service and its applicable conditions will be made clear, without prejudice to rights granted by law.

1. Agency identification

AlanSpeak Travel is the trading name under which I, David Alan John Egan, operate as a self-employed travel agent based in Fuengirola, Málaga, Spain.

The agency is registered with the Andalusia Tourism Register under number C.I.AN 297805-3, as a wholesale and retail travel agency, and operates exclusively online.

Email: info@alanspeak.com.

Telephone: +34 606 863 414.

Every booking will identify the travel organiser and, where applicable, the retailer involved. Their respective responsibilities will be those established under applicable legislation.

2. Pre-contractual information and booking documents

Before a traveller becomes bound by a package travel contract, I will provide the information required by law, including the standard package travel information form.

The documents for an individual trip may include a proposal or detailed programme, a technical information sheet, accommodation details, the price and included services, particular conditions, the package travel contract and the relevant insurance documentation.

Pre-contractual information that is legally binding will form part of the contract and may be changed only as permitted by law.

Contractual information will be provided clearly and comprehensibly, in Spanish and with an English version for bookings conducted in English, and the traveller will receive a copy or confirmation of the contract on a durable medium, such as a document sent by email.

3. Booking requests and confirmation

An enquiry, request for a quotation or proposed itinerary does not, in itself, constitute a confirmed booking.

When a traveller wishes to book, I will take the necessary steps to check the availability of the requested services and explain the booking conditions.

The booking becomes binding when the offer has been accepted and confirmed in accordance with the documentation provided. From that point, both parties must meet their contractual obligations.

Where a paid service for the design or preparation of a bespoke itinerary has been expressly agreed, its price and terms will be communicated before that work begins.

4. Prices and payment

The total price of the trip, including applicable taxes, charges, supplements and other costs, will be set out in the pre-contractual information and the contract.

The documents will also specify which services are included, which are excluded and any additional expenses that the traveller may have to pay where these cannot reasonably be calculated in advance.

Payments to AlanSpeak Travel are made by bank transfer. The initial deposit, subsequent payments and their due dates will be specified in the particular conditions of each booking.

There is no single deposit percentage or payment timetable for every trip. Arrangements may vary depending on the booked services, suppliers and itinerary.

If the traveller does not meet the agreed payment obligations, the consequences will be communicated in accordance with the contract and applicable law.

5. Price revisions

Once a package travel contract has been concluded, the price may be increased only if the contract expressly allows such a revision and specifies how it is calculated.

Revisions permitted by law are limited to changes in transport costs resulting from fuel or other energy sources, certain taxes and charges, or exchange rates relevant to the trip.

Any increase must be communicated with justification and a calculation at least twenty calendar days before departure. If it exceeds 8% of the total price, the traveller will have the rights to accept the change or terminate the contract as provided by law.

Where the contract permits increases, it must also recognise the traveller’s right to a price reduction resulting from a fall in the same costs, in accordance with applicable law.

If the particular contract does not expressly provide for price revisions, the price cannot be increased on that basis after the contract is concluded.

6. Changes before departure

Itineraries and services are prepared with care. Nevertheless, circumstances may make changes necessary before a trip begins.

Insignificant changes may be made where the contract provides for this and the traveller is notified in accordance with the legal requirements.

If a substantial change to one of the main characteristics of the trip becomes necessary, or a previously accepted special requirement cannot be met, the traveller will be informed of the available options and may accept the change or terminate the contract without a termination fee, as provided by law.

Where appropriate, alternative arrangements or a replacement trip may be offered. If an alternative is of lower quality or cost, an appropriate price reduction will apply.

7. Cancellation by the traveller

A traveller may terminate a package travel contract at any time before the trip begins.

In that event, an appropriate and justifiable termination fee may apply, calculated in accordance with the cancellation conditions communicated and the criteria laid down by law. Account will be taken of costs saved and income obtained through alternative use of the travel services.

Costs relating to air tickets, accommodation, special services or other reservations may affect the justifiable cancellation charge. The existence of non-refundable services does not, by itself, mean that the entire trip price may automatically be retained.

The traveller may request an explanation of the cancellation charges applied.

Where unavoidable and extraordinary circumstances occur at the destination or in its immediate vicinity and significantly affect the performance of the trip or the transport of passengers to the destination, the traveller will have the right to terminate without a fee and receive the refund provided by law.

For package travel contracts concluded off-premises, the special fourteen-day right of withdrawal will apply where appropriate under Article 160.5 of Spanish Royal Legislative Decree 1/2007. This right does not automatically apply to every booking made online.

8. Cancellation by the organiser

The organiser may cancel a package trip if the minimum number of participants is not reached, provided that this minimum is stated in the contract and the cancellation is notified within the statutory deadlines.

The latest permitted notification deadlines are:

  • Twenty calendar days before departure for trips lasting more than six days.
  • Seven calendar days before departure for trips lasting between two and six days.
  • Forty-eight hours before departure for trips lasting less than two days.

A trip may also be cancelled where unavoidable and extraordinary circumstances make its performance impossible, subject to the notice requirements and consequences established by law.

In these circumstances, the relevant payments will be refunded within a maximum of fourteen calendar days, without prejudice to any further rights the traveller may have under the law.

9. Transfer of a booking

A traveller may transfer a package travel contract to another person who meets all the conditions required to take part in the trip.

The transfer must be notified on a durable medium, with reasonable notice of at least seven calendar days before departure.

The original traveller and the replacement traveller will be jointly responsible for any outstanding balance and reasonable additional costs actually incurred as a result of the transfer, which must be justified in accordance with the law.

10. Travel documents, entry requirements and special needs

Before booking, I will provide the required general information about passports, visas, health formalities and other entry requirements applicable to the trip.

The traveller must provide accurate information, ensure that the required documents are valid and complete the formalities for which they are responsible. Where AlanSpeak expressly agrees to arrange a visa or other formality, the conditions of that service will be specified.

Any relevant mobility, accessibility, dietary, medical or other special needs should be communicated sufficiently far in advance for the necessary arrangements and available services to be assessed and confirmed.

Whether a trip is suitable will be assessed in the light of its actual characteristics and the traveller’s needs. Any special requirements accepted by the organiser will be recorded in the contractual documentation.

11. During the trip: incidents and assistance

Travellers must respect the applicable rules in the destinations visited, reasonable safety instructions and the standards of conduct expected on group trips.

If a service included in a package travel contract is not provided as agreed, the traveller must report the problem without undue delay, taking account of the circumstances, so that it can be addressed.

The organiser and, where applicable, the retailer will assume the responsibilities concerning performance, remedies and assistance established by package travel legislation, including any applicable rights to alternative arrangements, price reductions, compensation or return transport.

Where a difficulty has been caused intentionally or through the traveller’s negligence, reimbursement of the actual costs of additional assistance may be required, within the limits laid down by law.

Group trips or programmes with special characteristics may have additional participation and safety rules. Programmes for minors will have particular conditions concerning admission, behaviour, supervision and the responsibilities of parents or legal guardians.

12. Insurance and guarantees

AlanSpeak Travel holds professional liability insurance with Occident GCO, S.A.U. de Seguros y Reaseguros, providing €600,000 of cover under each of the policy’s three separate areas of cover.

It also holds a separate €100,000 financial guarantee covering obligations under the regulations applicable to travel agencies, including insolvency protection where legally required.

The contractual documentation will identify the guarantor and provide the details needed to exercise the relevant rights. Professional liability insurance is subject to its territorial scope, terms and limits.

Travel assistance, medical expenses, cancellation, baggage and other personal insurance policies are separate from the agency’s professional insurance arrangements.

Each proposal or contract will state which insurance policies are included, which are optional and where their cover, exclusions and terms can be consulted.

13. Complaints and dispute resolution

If a problem arises during a trip, I recommend reporting it as soon as possible so that I can intervene while a solution may still be possible.

Complaints concerning booked services may be sent to info@alanspeak.com, with the booking reference and a description of the circumstances.

Complaints will be handled in accordance with the applicable responsibilities of the organiser and retailer. Travellers retain the rights granted by Spanish and European legislation, including access to the relevant administrative, out-of-court and judicial procedures.

Nothing in these conditions limits the non-waivable rights of consumers and travellers.

14. Data protection and particular conditions

Personal data needed to manage bookings will be processed in accordance with my Privacy Policy and applicable data protection legislation.

These general conditions are supplemented by the pre-contractual information and the particular conditions of each trip. The latter specify the services, prices, deadlines, requirements and other arrangements agreed for that booking, while respecting all mandatory legal provisions.

Package travel contracts are governed in particular by Book Four of Spanish Royal Legislative Decree 1/2007 of 16 November and other applicable Spanish and European legislation.

Specific conditions for programmes for minors in Ireland

Working draft — 3 November 2026

These conditions supplement AlanSpeak Travel’s General Terms and Conditions for Travel Bookings and apply to English-language immersion programmes in Ireland for participants under the age of 18.

Their purpose is to set out the responsibilities of the organiser, participants and their parents or legal guardians, together with the rules on behaviour and safety that are necessary during the stay.

The details of each programme, including dates, duration, flights, lessons, activities, accommodation, price and payment schedule, will be specified in the individual programme documentation.

1. Nature and organisation of the programme

AlanSpeak Travel’s programmes in Ireland combine English-language learning with living in a host family and taking part in cultural, educational and recreational activities.

Language immersion is a fundamental part of the experience. Participants are expected to make a reasonable effort to communicate in English, take part in family life and respect local customs.

AlanSpeak Travel acts as the programme organiser and coordinates its delivery through local partners, group leaders, host families and the providers of the included services.

The organiser retains its contractual and safeguarding responsibilities even where certain operational tasks are carried out by partners in Ireland.

2. Applications and admission process

Submitting an application does not automatically guarantee a place on the programme.

Before admission is confirmed, prospective participants must attend a series of individual and group meetings organised by AlanSpeak Travel. Depending on their place of residence and practical arrangements, these meetings may be held in person or online.

The meetings provide an opportunity to explain how the programme works, get to know prospective participants and assess their readiness, motivation, ability to live with others and willingness to follow the rules.

Admission will be assessed individually, taking account of the programme’s characteristics, the applicant’s needs, the support and supervision realistically available and the safety of everyone involved.

Where specific needs are identified, reasonable adjustments will be considered. A medical condition, disability or diagnosis will not, in itself, be grounds for exclusion.

If the admission process cannot be completed satisfactorily, or an applicant’s needs cannot be met safely even with reasonable adjustments, AlanSpeak Travel may decline to offer a place, explaining the relevant reasons to the parents or legal guardians.

The meetings also give prospective participants the chance to ask questions and understand the responsibilities they will have during their stay.

3. Information provided by parents or legal guardians

Parents or legal guardians must provide truthful, complete and up-to-date information about any known circumstances that may materially affect the child’s health, safety, wellbeing, behaviour or participation in the programme.

Where relevant to the programme, this includes illnesses or injuries with ongoing consequences, allergies, medication, supervision needs, significant behavioural difficulties, recent serious incidents and other circumstances requiring precautions or additional support.

A complete medical or psychological history is not required; only the information needed to assess participation and make appropriate arrangements for the stay.

Parents or guardians must report any significant change that occurs after the application is submitted and before departure.

Failure to disclose materially relevant information may lead to a reassessment of the child’s participation and support requirements. If a situation emerges during the stay that cannot be managed safely, the measures set out in these conditions may be considered, with due regard for the child’s wellbeing and the specific circumstances.

The parental declaration will form part of the individual participation documents.

4. Health information, medication and emergencies

Before departure, the information necessary to meet the child’s health needs during the stay in Ireland will be requested.

Where applicable, parents or guardians must complete a confidential form covering health, wellbeing, medication and emergency arrangements, supplying only supplementary medical information relevant to the programme.

If a participant requires medication, the necessary instructions for its administration, storage and supervision must be provided, with the respective responsibilities agreed before departure.

The programme is not a healthcare facility or a specialist therapeutic service. Where a participant requires particular support, the possibility of providing it appropriately and safely will be assessed in advance.

Health information will be handled confidentially in accordance with the Privacy Policy and the specific information provided with the relevant form. It will be shared only with those who need it in order to provide appropriate care or assistance.

Where a paper health file is used, the intention is to return it to parents or guardians at the end of the stay, without prejudice to retaining incident records where legally justified.

5. Travel documentation

Every participant must hold a valid individual passport for the trip. This is an AlanSpeak Travel programme requirement even where entry rules may, in certain circumstances, permit travel using another form of identity document.

Any parental consent or authorisation required for a minor to travel must also be supplied, together with the documents requested by the organiser, parents’ or guardians’ contact details and relevant medical or health-cover documentation.

The specific rules for minors travelling abroad can vary according to their nationality, country of residence and departure country. Parents or guardians must obtain the authorisations applicable to their child; any relevant requirements will be explained during the booking process.

Participants who are eligible will be asked to obtain a European Health Insurance Card or equivalent documentation where appropriate. This does not replace any travel assistance insurance included in the programme.

Parents or guardians must ensure that all documents are valid, provide them within the deadlines communicated and report any circumstance that could prevent the child from travelling to or entering Ireland.

6. Host families and living arrangements

Participants will stay with host families selected and assessed for the programme in accordance with applicable vetting and child safeguarding procedures.

As a programme policy, no more than one AlanSpeak Travel participant from the same first-language group will be placed with a particular host family.

Living with a host family means taking part in everyday household life and respecting the family’s routines, spaces, customs and reasonable house rules. A host family provides a home environment, not hotel-style services.

Participants are expected to be respectful, cooperative and open-minded towards their hosts, making an effort to communicate and take part in family life.

Visits by other participants to a host family’s home require the host family’s prior permission and must comply with the programme rules.

Details of the assigned host family will be provided before departure once the arrangements have been confirmed.

7. Settling in and changes of host family

The first three days of the stay are considered an initial settling-in period, during which participants adjust to their host family, the language, local customs and their new surroundings.

The child’s wellbeing will be monitored during this period. Ordinary adjustment difficulties will be addressed through discussion and support, avoiding hasty changes that could make settling in more difficult.

This approach does not delay immediate action where there are concerns about safety, abuse, health or other serious matters requiring intervention.

If a placement proves unsuitable and the situation cannot reasonably be resolved, AlanSpeak Travel undertakes to seek a suitable alternative host family within a reasonable time, taking account of the circumstances and availability.

An immediate change of host family cannot be guaranteed simply because of differences in preferences, customs or personal expectations. All significant concerns will, however, be listened to and assessed.

8. Lessons, activities and time with host families

Participants must attend the lessons and activities included in the programme and follow the relevant timetables and instructions from those responsible.

Activities may include excursions, cultural visits, sport and other organised experiences, as specified in the timetable for each programme.

Organised activities will mainly take place on the days set out in the programme. Time reserved for living with host families is also an integral part of the educational experience.

Participants may not leave organised activities, travel independently or change agreed supervision arrangements without the appropriate permission.

Activities involving particular safety considerations will be subject to the relevant instructions and authorisations.

9. Mobile phones and communication

The programme restricts personal mobile phone use to encourage English-language immersion, family interaction and participation in activities.

Devices will be held by designated responsible adults and made available during scheduled communication periods, in accordance with the rules explained before departure.

Using a concealed second phone to circumvent these rules is not permitted.

Restrictions on personal phone use will not prevent children from seeking help or reporting an urgent concern through the designated responsible adults and emergency contact arrangements.

Parents or guardians will receive information about contact arrangements, communication periods and the procedure for urgent situations.

10. Rules of conduct and behaviour

Participation means accepting the rules on behaviour, safety and respect established by AlanSpeak Travel, host families, educational centres and activity leaders.

Drinking alcohol, smoking, using electronic cigarettes or vaping products, taking illegal drugs and attending unauthorised discos or parties are prohibited throughout the programme.

Bullying, threats, intimidation, violence, theft, deliberate damage, leaving supervised areas without permission and other conduct seriously compromising safety or harmonious living arrangements are also prohibited.

Participants must follow reasonable instructions from responsible adults, comply with timetables and host-family rules, and respect Irish law.

Breaches of the rules will be assessed according to their seriousness, repetition, circumstances and consequences. Measures may include warnings, proportionate corrective action or, in the cases described below, early termination of participation.

11. Serious incidents and early termination of participation

Where a participant engages in serious or repeated misconduct that jeopardises safety, wellbeing or the ability of others to live and participate together, AlanSpeak Travel may consider ending their participation early and arranging their return to their home country or the destination agreed with their parents or guardians.

This measure may be considered, for example, in cases of violence, serious threats, persistent bullying, theft, behaviour endangering others, repeated unauthorised absences from supervision or other serious breaches of the rules.

Where conduct may constitute a criminal offence, action will be taken as appropriate to the circumstances and with the involvement of the relevant authorities where necessary.

Where circumstances allow, parents or guardians will be informed, the participant will be heard and proportionate alternatives will be considered before a decision is made to arrange an early return.

In situations involving immediate danger or particular seriousness, urgent protective measures may be taken without waiting for prior warnings.

Early termination will never mean abandoning a child. The necessary supervision will be arranged until the child is handed over to the responsible person at the agreed destination.

12. Additional costs arising from an early return

Where an early return is justified by serious misconduct attributable to the participant, the contracting parents or guardians will be responsible, subject to applicable law, for the additional expenses that are necessary, reasonable, properly evidenced and directly caused by that situation.

These may include the purchase or alteration of a return ticket, transport to the airport, fuel, tolls, parking, public transport or taxi fares, and necessary meals and care for the child.

Where possible, I will personally accompany the child to the airport. In that case, I will not charge an additional escort fee for my own time.

If I cannot personally provide the transfer and supervision, an adult escort appointed by the organiser may be used. The actual, justified cost of this service may then be charged to the contracting parents or guardians.

The escort will remain available at the airport until the aircraft’s actual departure has been confirmed, in accordance with the carrier’s conditions and the child’s supervision needs. A flight being shown as departed on an information system will not, by itself, be sufficient to end the escort’s responsibilities.

If delays, cancellations or other incidents extend the waiting time or require the return journey to be rearranged, additional transport, parking, meal, accommodation or escort costs may arise, provided they are necessary and properly evidenced.

Where these services are provided and invoiced by a local partner, parents or guardians may receive a breakdown or invoice of the additional costs, in accordance with the particular booking conditions.

No arbitrary penalties will be imposed, nor will avoidable expenses, costs unrelated to the reason for the return or costs for which other service providers are responsible be passed on. Any amounts actually recovered through refunds, insurance or other applicable means will be deducted.

Any refund for services not used will be determined in accordance with the contract, the circumstances and the traveller’s non-waivable legal rights.

13. Responsibilities of parents or legal guardians

Contracting parents or guardians must cooperate with AlanSpeak Travel during the preparation and delivery of the programme, provide accurate information and documentation, and respond to relevant communications concerning their child.

They must keep their contact details up to date and provide details of an alternative authorised contact in case they cannot be reached.

In the event of illness, a serious incident or an early return, they must cooperate with the necessary arrangements and, where appropriate, ensure that an appropriately identified responsible adult is available to receive the child at the agreed arrival point.

Parents or guardians must explain the programme rules to their child and support compliance with them, without prejudice to the organiser’s own responsibilities for supervision and safeguarding.

14. Reporting concerns and safeguarding

Any situation affecting a participant’s health, safety or wellbeing must be reported to the designated responsible adults as soon as possible.

Children will have ways to ask for help, raise concerns and report matters they cannot resolve directly with their host family.

At weekends and outside normal contact hours, emergency channels are reserved for urgent situations. Administrative enquiries and routine matters may be dealt with during the next normal contact period.

Situations involving danger, suspected abuse, a missing child, serious illness or other emergencies will receive immediate attention, with the involvement of the relevant services where necessary.

AlanSpeak Travel and its partners will act in accordance with their child safeguarding responsibilities and the procedures established for the programme.

15. Individual documentation and acceptance

These conditions are supplemented by the General Terms and Conditions for Travel Bookings, the particular programme, the relevant contract, the parental or guardian declaration, any necessary information and consent forms, and the participant handbook.

Before departure, parents or guardians must read and accept the applicable contractual conditions and participation rules communicated to them.

The child must also be familiar with the rules, have a genuine opportunity to ask questions and express their commitment to following them. Their acknowledgement does not replace contractual acceptance by their parents or legal representatives.

These conditions will be interpreted in accordance with the Spanish legislation applicable to travel bookings and the rules on the protection of minors that apply during the stay in Ireland, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer rights applicable to international bookings.
