We’ll drive through the breathtaking Andalusian countryside, passing the picturesque white village of Ardales and Cuevas del Becerro, before arriving in Setenil de las Bodegas, located in the province of Cádiz, approximately 95 km from Malaga. Known for its remarkable homes built under large rock overhangs, Setenil de las Bodegas is a visual marvel. Don’t forget to stop at the romantic “Kiss me in this corner” sign on Jabonería Street before we head to the next destination.
At around 11:00 am, we’ll board the bus and travel the 17 km to Ronda, one of the oldest and most historically significant towns in Spain. You’ll arrive around 12:00 pm, where you’ll have 3 hours and 30 minutes of free time to explore the town at your own pace. Take in the iconic Puente Nuevo, stroll through the charming streets, and enjoy panoramic views of the Tajo Gorge from various viewpoints. This is a great opportunity to relax and savor the local cuisine before making your way back to the bus station.
Around 16:00, we’ll regroup at the bus station and return to Malaga, where we will drop you off at the starting point of your excursion.
* The Don Bosco House Museum in Ronda was originally a private residence built in the early 20th century by a noble family. It was later donated to the Salesians in honor of Don Bosco. Today, it serves as a museum showcasing period furniture, beautiful Andalusian architecture, and stunning views of the Puente Nuevo and Ronda’s gorge.
So, while Don Bosco himself never lived there, the house reflects his legacy through its connection to the Salesian mission.
