El Caminito del Reybest known for being “the most dangerous path in the worldThe hotel is located almost 60 kilometres from Malaga, in the south of Spain. For approximately 4 hours, enjoy this spectacular walk along trails and walkways attached to the wall of the Gaitanes Gorgewith a total distance of 7.7 kilometreswhich has a maximum altitude of 105 metres and a maximum height of pedestrian footbridge more than 3 kilometres long which is barely 1 metre wide. Our circular route will start from the Hotel La Gargantain El Chorro (Álora). Next to the reception you will find your expert local guide in the area and once the group has formed you will head towards the shuttle bus, included in the price, which will lead directly to the north access to the Caminitoin Ardales. Once there you will enjoy all the natural jewels such as the Guadalhorce river dam, the Desfiladero de los Gaitanes Natural Site and the El Chorro reservoir. Before arriving at the control access you will discover the history of the King Alfonso XIII the location of the King’s chair,  where the Sociedad Hidroeléctrica del Chorroand you will take a short walk through pine trees and Mediterranean vegetation. Once at the access control, where you will be given a safety helmet and will be given several guidelines for carrying out the activity on the pedestrian walkways for 3 kilometres. After finishing the incredible experience of the footbridges and above all, the suspension bridge in the canyon of the Gaitanes GorgeAfter the ride, still enjoying the surroundings of the El Chorro reservoir, you will return your helmets and arrive at the starting point in front of the hotel “La Garganta”. Once here you can take the train back, have an aperitif in the restaurant of the hotel “La Garganta” or take the car parked right there. This is the most comfortable way to visit the Caminito del reyYou will start and finish in the same place for your convenience.

The Caminito del Rey-Sunset Visit

If you like sunset visits, this is a different way of getting to know the Caminito del Rey. During the summer months choose the timetable starting at 15:30h.you will enjoy the peace of mind of doing this route in the shade on most of its route, seeing with different eyes the mixture of lights at dusk that cover this unique natural site. How to get to the southern access to the Caminito del Rey?

You can get there either by suburban train and get off at the El Chorro train station stop Don’t worry about where to park your car! You can park it in the parking lot at the free parking area in the surroundings of the Rural Tourist Complex La Garganta, at the southern access to the Caminito del Rey: El Chorro.

What if the train to El Chorro is delayed?
Our meeting time is half past one, and we leave the meeting point 15-20 minutes later. Therefore, if you are scheduled to start the activity at 10.30am and the train to El Chorro is scheduled to arrive at 10.35am, don’t worry, you will be able to do the activity without any problem. In case you don’t arrive on time, or if you believe you won’t, please contact the company by phone.
How long does it take to complete the entire route?

The official tour of the Caminito del Rey lasts 3 to 4 hours, depending on the pace of each person.

Is it possible to bring food and drink on the excursion?

Yes, we recommend you bring a snack and a drink, usually 1L of water, with you for the activity. There is nowhere to shop during the tour.

Where can I eat once I've finished the Caminito?

Can children do the Caminito del Rey?
