DAY 1. PLACE OF ORIGIN – ALBACETE: Departure from our place of origin at the indicated time. Short stops en route. Lunch at the clients’ own expense. Arrival at the hotel, dinner and accommodation.
DAY 2. ROUTE OF QUIJOTE – SAN CLEMENTE – PROVENCIO – OSSA DE MONTIEL – VILLANUEVA DE LOS INFANTES: In the morning we will do the mythical ‘Route of Don Quixote’. The first stop will be in San Clemente. Next stop will be in El Provencio. Return to the hotel for lunch. Afternoon departure to Ossa de Montiel to see the Lagunas de Ruidera, Villahermosa, and finish the route in Villanueva de los Infantes. According to the thesis of several scholars, these towns were the setting for the adventures of the ‘Caballero de la Triste Figura’ (Knight of the Sad Countenance). The famous writer Croft-Cooke states that the ‘Marriage of Camacho’ also had the town of Villarrobledo as its main setting. Return to the hotel, dinner and accommodation.
DAY 3. TOMELLOSO – ALBACETE: Morning departure to Tomelloso, where you can see the Posada de los Portales, the Church of Nuestra Señora de la Asunción, the Carro Museum and the Town Hall itself. All the buildings are beautifully crafted. Return to the hotel for lunch. Afternoon departure to Albacete with official guide. Albacete was first called by the Moors as ‘Al-Basit’, which in Arabic means ‘The Plain’, in reference to the character of the geography of the place. Free time to enjoy this enigmatic city. Return to the hotel, dinner and overnight.
DAY 4. ALBACETE – TOLEDO: Morning visit to Toledo. Short stops en route. Arrival at the hotel, accommodation and free time. Lunch at the hotel. In the afternoon we will visit Toledo with an official guide, the famous city of the three cultures. Its historic centre, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, is fascinating, among other reasons, because it preserves its medieval layout as it was in the Middle Ages. Return to the hotel, dinner and accommodation.
DAY 5. MORA – ARANJUEZ: Morning excursion to Mora. To speak of Mora is to speak of olive trees and their oil, produced in the village’s olive mills: extra virgin olive oil. Return to the hotel for lunch. In the afternoon we will visit Aranjuez. Aranjuez’s layout is made up of an old town, a Historic-Artistic Site, royal palaces and gardens on the banks of the Tagus. The concepts of the Enlightenment, adapted to the urban development of the cities, are expressed here in a balance between nature and man, the watercourses and the design of the gardens, between the forest and the palatial architecture. Return to the hotel, dinner and overnight.
DAY 6. TOLEDO – PLACE OF ORIGIN: Breakfast and early departure to the place of origin, brief stops en route, lunch at your own expense, arrival, end of the trip and of our services.
NOTE: The programme is subject to the transport regulations of 11/04/07, which affect both driving hours and drivers’ rest periods, so the order in which it is carried out may vary, but not its content.
Organising your trip needs time and care to make sure everything goes smoothly. The more time you can give me to organise whatever you require: flights, transfers, golf courses, green fees, tee times, a day trip for the days you don’t play golf, a fishing trip, a visit to one of the major cities in Andalusia, especially if you would like to visit the Alhambra in Granada. The waiting list for tickets to see the whole complex is long. And, when they’re gone, they’re gone!
