Itinerary

DAY 1. PLACE OF ORIGIN – CAZORLA: Departure from our place of origin. Lunch at the client’s own expense. Arrival at the hotel, dinner and accommodation.

DAY 2. ÚBEDA – ARABIC VILLAGE OF IZNATORAF: In the morning visit to Úbeda with official guide, declared World Heritage Site by UNESCO. You will see the Chapel of the Saviour of the World, an important Renaissance work; Juan Vázquez de Molina Square, one of the most beautiful squares in Europe; the Juan Vázquez de Molina Palace, currently the town hall; the Old Hospital of Santiago, the Church of San Pablo, the Market Square; and the House of the Towers. Return to the hotel for lunch. In the afternoon visit to the Moorish village of Iznatoraf, where an extensive Moorish legacy and a rich Renaissance, Gothic, Baroque and Modernist monumental heritage are perfectly blended. In the labyrinthine intimacy of its streets, the whiteness of its houses, the stone of its walls, everything leads us to a past with Arab, Jewish and Christian accents. Return to the hotel and dinner.

DAY 3. CAZORLA NATURAL PARK: Morning visit to the Natural Park of Cazorla, Segura and Las Villas. It was the first park in Spain and has been declared a biosphere reserve. It has a total of 214,300 hectares. You will visit the Tranco reservoir, once the viewpoint of Félix Rodríguez de la Fuente, a national anthropologist; you will also see the Torre del Vinagre, the main viewpoint of the park, and visit Cazorla. Return to the hotel for lunch. In the afternoon free time, return to the hotel and dinner.

DAY 4. BAEZA – OLIVE OIL COOPERATIVE – FUENSANTA SANCTUARY: Morning excursion to the Renaissance town of Baeza, surrounded by olive groves. It is a town full of monuments. You can explore its monuments on foot or on board a fantastic little tourist train (not included). Return to the hotel for lunch. In the afternoon you will visit one of the largest oil cooperatives in Europe. Afterwards you will visit the Sanctuary of the Virgin of Fuensanta (in Villanueva del Arzobispo), with great spiritual influence, it was here that San Juan de la Cruz settled in a modest and austere convent, in the Calvary, to compose his Spiritual Canticle. Return to the hotel for dinner.

DAY 5. JAÉN – CHICLANA DE SEGURA: Morning visit to Jaén with an official guide where you will see the cathedral, built by Andrés Vandelvira, Santa Catalina Castle, and the beautiful National Parador. Return to the hotel for lunch. Afternoon visit to the Moorish village of Chiclana de Segura, characteristic for its cave houses embedded in the rock and a viewpoint where you can see four different provinces. Return to the hotel for dinner.

DAY 6. SIERRA DE CAZORLA – PLACE OF ORIGIN: Early in the morning departure to the place of origin, lunch at the client’s own expense. Arrival, end of the trip.

NOTE: The programme is subject to the transport regulations of 11/04/07, which affect both driving hours and drivers’ rest periods, so the order in which it is carried out may vary, but not its content.

Organising your trip needs time and care to make sure everything goes smoothly. The more time you can give me  to organise whatever you require: flights, transfers, golf courses, green fees, tee times, a day trip for the days you don’t play golf, a fishing trip, a visit to one of the major cities in Andalusia, especially if you would like to visit the Alhambra in Granada. The waiting list for tickets to see the whole complex is long. And, when they’re gone, they’re gone!
