I came to Spain to study Spanish in the 80s. I’ve been here ever since. I taught English as a foreign language for a long time until COVID brought about a need for change, as it did for so many of us. To keep the sense of change to a minimum I moved into the Travel industry as I have been organising trips for almost three decades. It’s never without problems, but when you hand the responsibility of organisation over to someone with the local knowledge, it becomes a whole different scenario.

As a teacher I was always aware of the importance of learning through travel. As a fellow traveller, I am fully aware of the frustration of being abroad and not knowing where to go for a meal, what to do for a day trip, how to do it. I thrive in this environment. I love travel and sharing or even preparing those special moments, whether it’s getting the best tee-time, organising a foodie night out post golf, a school tour with ample opportunities to practise language learning.
