Procession of the Virgen del Carmen, patron of sailors
The Virgen del Carmen from the Perchel neighbourhood in the centre of Malaga and patron of sailors is carried through the city to the Catedral. When the procession arrives at the port, She is taken onto on of the tugs and carried around the bay to bless the waters accompanied by the singing of the Salve Marinera (marine salute) en route there is a stop while She meets the divers that emerge with another image.
This is a unique tradition that you should not miss out on.
Cash payments are not accepted on the vessel.
